About
The Multiple Store is the leading producer of high quality, affordable Multiples in 3-D by some of Britain’s most exciting contemporary artists.
Through our commissioning programme we provide opportunities for contemporary artists (both established and emerging) to explore new materials and use new processes; Multiples also provide ways of communicating the artist’s ideas which differ from those of a unique work.
Since 1998 we have published editions by artists including Fiona Banner, David Batchelor, David Burrows, Jonathan Callan, Keith Coventry, Dalziel & Scullion, Grenville Davey, Anya Gallaccio, Graham Gussin, Dan Hays, Kenny Hunter, Langlands & Bell, Liliane Lijn, Peter Liversidge, Cornelia Parker, Simon Periton, Boyd Webb and Paul Winstanley. Our prices range from £250 to £2200 plus VAT. Average prices are below £1000.
We sell our editions at affordable prices in order to encourage new collectors.
When new editions are launched, we invite our collectors to special previews attended by the art-ists, where they can buy their artwork at discounted pre-launch prices well below the public launch price.
Each year some of our artists contribute to the funding of our commissions programme by producing limited edition prints. Our first prints, by Fiona Banner, Dan Hays and Simon Periton were launched in April 2009, and shown publicly at the London Original Print Fair later that month. A special boxed portfolio was made available in conjunction with Arts Council England, to mark the 5th anniversary of the Own Art Scheme. A new edition in neon by Peter Liversidge was launched in November 2009.
Placing great store in our close working relationship with the artists we commission, we have developed a reputation for producing innovative, critically-acclaimed artworks, produced to a consistently high standard.
Our editions are held in many permanent international collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Yale Center for British Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Arts Council and the British Council Collections, in addition to many major private collections
The Multiple Store has exhibited at many major galleries including: the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; Whitechapel Gallery; Yorkshire Sculpture Park; Tate Liverpool, the New Art Centre, Walsall; and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh, as well as at artfairs in the UK, Europe and the USA.
