Boyd Webb

Acute social observation combined with a strong sense of satire runs through the work of Boyd Webb. Whether sculpture, performance, photography or film, the small dramas of life are brought to the fore by Boyd Webb’s sense of the absurd. Everyday props re-enact familiar, real-life scenes whilst the artificiality of the materials he uses speaks of a fabricated nature held together by tenuous links.
“‘Skirmish’ continues my fascination with representations of nature. Set prior to the intervention of the fly screen, I see ‘Skirmish’ as an interactive souvenir from somewhere hot where flies desport themselves at the whim of the passing viewer.”
